The VBL is in service in 16 armies. It is used mainly for scouting and reconnaissance missions but it can also afford with success antitank or air defense mission. The VBL is the spearhead of the French armour units. It has been used in all operations in Africa, Lebanon, Kosovo and Afghanistan since 15 years. More than 2,300 VBL are in duty all over the world.
Armement
This version of VBL has been developed in cooperation with THALES. The source system offer reconnaissance units to enhance their range of missions. This system allows also scout units to be integrated in a digitalized network.
